For those of you who didn't know, I have a new job - finally! I had been looking for months for a better opportunity. I am a clinician at Victor Community Support Services. I am the first clinician hired on for the new TAY (transition age youth) program. We will be helping 16-25 years old with severe mental illness transition into independence and adulthood by providing mental health services, vocational assistance and housing assistance. I am so excited to be a part of this new program and for the opportunties that may unfold in the years to come. Right now we are doing a lot of program creating and with our first client next week will can start implementing our ideas that have been months in the making.
I have only been working there 5 1/2 weeks. My previous positions have definitely prepared me for this position - working as more than just a therapist. Although I didn't see it before, God has a plan!!! There were many times when I asked God why he had me working so far away from home, or why I was not getting calls on my resume, or why I was being turned down for jobs - well now I know. It is such a testament to believing that God does have a plan and knows the big picture when we can't see it.
