"House Rest"

On Monday morning the pain was even worse in my pelvis and I could hardly move, so I made an appointment with the doctor. Since I couldn't drive, my mom came and picked me up - could barely get into the car - ridiculous. The doctor explained to me what was going in.

When we are pregnant our joints and ligaments loosen due to all the hormones and preparation for birth. This I was aware of because my hips will go out from time to time. Well, your pelvic bone is actually two bones and is connected with a ligament. That ligament is loosening and is causing the bones to shift which can lead to inflammation which is resulting in lots of pain. So, she gave me some Vicodin to last me till my next appointment (which is on Friday) and told me to rest. She said if I needed to get out and about to use a wheel chair, but that I should just rest as much as possible and not to drive. She hinted that if things did not get any better that they might have to "get the baby out of there" - now mind you I am only two weeks away from the due date and am considered full term, so no worries if they have to induce or whatever. But we will see what my primary doctor says on Friday (as I saw a different doctor in the practice who was able to fit me in on Monday).

So for now I am going stir crazy and feel bad that Addison is coupled up in the family room with me. Thank goodness for cartoons. I sleep on the couch too because I can't get into bed and I can't lay down. So I only make 2-3 trips upstairs a day - and it takes me forever.

The vicodin helps but does not take away all of the pain away- which is probably good because then I may start over doing things and making the problem worse.

I did go into the pool on Monday - as advised by the doctor - what a weird feeling. As I was getting into the pool my belly started rising up towards the top, almost made me want to fall back because I wasn't used to it. But it was nice getting all that pressure off of my hips. I'll be going back over there today to float around some more.
