I forgot how difficult the first couple of weeks after having a baby are. The first week I was struggling with getting my own body up and running again and trying to get some sleep. The sleep thing is even worse this last week. I am lucky to get four hours of sleep - which is usually chopped up into 30 min to 1 hour increments. Isabelle's schedule is way off. She was a rather happy baby the first week of life and is now crabby when she is awake. I know Addison was not a happy camper with my breast milk, and that might be the case again. So I have four more weeks until Isabelle will get switched to formula (cause I am going back to work). But she is on the bottle now because I am in so much pain from her eating all the time, but I am pumping so she is getting all the good milk that I can produce.
She is also eating every hour and a half. She can't even push it to every two hours - well she does for a couple of feedings per day. And she is such a piggo. She should not be hungry after she eats because she takes down so much. I guess it was that big stomach that she was born with - significantly bigger when you're 9 pounds than when you are 7.
I took Addison and Isabelle shopping on Friday. My first real adventure out and about with both of them. It went really well because Isabelle slept the whole time and Addison was pretty good too. Our new double stroller is wonderful - it maneuvers so much better than the single stroller we had, so that is a blessing in itself.
Well, I hear Addison - which means she is up from her nap... and dinner time is approaching. Time to get back to the grindstone.

The transition from 1 child to 2 is very hard. Most people don't realize it. I have a couple friends who have a 3 year old and 4 month olds and they tell me often that they didnt realize how hard it would be. You are NOT alone! It is hard and as long as you do what you can you are doing ok. May God give you strength!
